Avocado Oil's Smoke Point Depends on Refining
Refined avocado oil does have one of the highest smoke points of any common cooking oil, well above olive oil, which makes it genuinely useful for searing and high-heat roasting. But "avocado oil" on a label doesn't guarantee it's refined — unrefined, extra-virgin avocado oil has a much lower smoke point closer to olive oil's, and some bottled "avocado oil" sold in the US has tested as adulterated with cheaper oils. Buy from a brand that's transparent about refining if high-heat performance is the point.
